We took delivery of 444 Elderberry scions at the beginning of the month. five new fields have been opened up to accommodate them, and the planting is almost finished.

We're stoked about this new episode in our journey with グイビの森.
Our first two Elders went in about 7 years ago, and, over time, have multiplied to the 50 or so that we have now. The 400+ new trees (genus Sambucus) that we are currently planting are new varieties to us, Some are S. canadensis (N.American), some S. nigra, (European) and some are a mysterious hybrid about which no one seems certain of its genetic ancestry. However, all of them are named varieties and each variety has unique characteristics.
Our plans for the future are to produce a range of products from both the berries and the flowers (teas, juices, syrups, etc). We're also in talks with a health supplement manufacturer who seems very excited about the introduction of a domestic, commercial-scale producer (us) but that will have to wait until we fill three more fields that we have earmarked for expansion.
All in all, a very exciting time for us.
